40mm Blue Slate is one of our best-selling slate chippings. The 40mm Blue Slate Chipping product is the larger size of blue slate, and it’s especially good for creating ground cover and enhancing rockeries. It includes tones of plum, grey and green coloured slate pieces for a natural variation in colour – this is very common in slate. Blue is the flattest slate we have, and the 40mm will settle down very well on paths. This gives an open-textured finish, even when packed down firmly. Alternatively, try our competitively priced Graphite Grey Slate, a beautiful dark slate chipping with flecks of gold running through it. The natural colour variations are what makes this slate special, as it can vary from blue-grey to plum. It is also known as Welsh Blue Slate or Heather Slate. The actual size ranges from 15-50mm. 20mm Blue Slate is available if you want a finer, smoother finish. Slate Chippings are sourced naturally from the quarry, and in some instances, the product may require a simple rinse with water to remove natural dust and ensure the slate’s natural colour is enjoyed.
