Full Description1.2m x 125mm Feather Edge Board – Pressure Treated Brown This 1.20m x 125mm brown feather edge board is UC4 pressure treated, making it ideal for medium-height closeboard fencing such as garden divides or residential side returns. The timber is treated for direct ground contact and long-term durability, resisting moisture, rot, and decay. Feather edge boards are produced using the 2EX method, where a 22mm thick board is cut diagonally to create two tapered pieces. The final thickness ranges from approximately 15mm down to 5mm, creating excellent overlap and runoff for weather protection and strength. This board is often paired with a gravel board to achieve a total finish height of around 1.35m, giving added protection against splashback and prolonging the fence’s life. Closeboard fencing with this board can be installed using either: Traditional Timber System A classic approach using timber posts, cant rails, and wooden gravel boards. For extra protection, Post Saver Sleeves offer a cost-effective way to prevent rot where timber posts meet the ground. Heavy-Duty Concrete System This robust alternative uses concrete recessed posts and concrete gravel boards, with timber cant rails to complete the structure. Ideal for high-traffic or high-moisture environments.
