THE PRESSED FLOWER CAKE BY THE INCREDIBLE BLUSHING COOK SHOWN IN THE MAIN IMAGE USED 4 PACKS OF PRESSED EDIBLE FLOWERS – IE OVER 100 FLOWERS. The pack contains a mixture of pressed flowers on stems, edible ferns and leaves and whole pressed flower heads. The pack has a mixture of small and larger flowers to give a more natural feel. As the season progresses we will add more some individual pressed variety packs as well if you have a particular favourite. Care for your pressed flowers. If you keep the flowers sealed and in a air and light tight place then they will last for many months but they are fragile and brittle when they arrive with you as they are fresh from pressing so they need to be handled with care so they don’t break. Once the packets are open some varieties are prone to reabsorbing moisture and they will go soft (pretty much like a biscuit or cracker does) so however tempting it is to open the flowers to play with them when they arrive it is best to only open them the day before you are planning on using them. Also, without wanting to sound like my mother (!) these are a sterile food safe product that is going to be attached to your creation so please make sure that they are spread out on kitchen towel or on a clean kitchen surface when assembling. Final nag… sorry…. if you attach the dried pressed flowers to the cake and then put the cake back in the fridge them they will go soggy. It’s not the end of the world if they are pressed on the cake, they will just go a bit darker in colour but if you are planning on having them sticking up above the top of the cake on their stems in a more 3d style then these will flop and wilt. Add them last minute. Postage Can be sent out by overnight courier (Tuesday-Friday delivery only) or tracked by Royal Mail.
