Bow Guard (Ketoh), Navajo Navajo Culture, Southwestern USA 1940s – 50s Silver, turquoise 3.625 x 2.375 in. / 9.25 x 6 cm Wristlets, or ketohs, were originally worn on a man’s left arm as a guard against the snap of a bowstring. However, by the turn of the twentieth century, they were generally worn for purely decorative purposes.
