Man’s Hat Pende, Yaka, or Suku people, DR Congo Early 20th century Natural fiber 51/2″ high x 9 1/2″ wide (14 x 24 cm) This appears to be the original fiber model upon which glass beaded hats were based on. Those are used by several different groups. Elsewhere in the Congo one finds hats with the same protuberances on the sides and top, however they are embellished with shells. Price on request
