Ear ornaments Kwaio, Malaita Island Canarium nuts, bat teeth, nautilus shell, black putty 2 inches high (5 cm) Early 20th century A fine pair of giringali alinga ear ornaments, which are worn by women with one nut on each side of the ear lobe anchored by a stick passing through the carved body of the nuts.
