Hunting Charm, yipwon Karawari River region, Papua New Guinea Blackened wood with encrusted patina. 11 ¼ x 3 ½ x 1” Mid 20th century  Small carved wood hunting charm with narrow hook forms framing an abstract human head with a large nose and pursed mouth.  Knobs at each end. Provenance: Old San Francisco collection, field collected by previous owner in New Guinea, 1978. SOLD
